My teaching business is called Everybody Music and you can read reviews HERE and at the bottom of this webpage.
Aside from performing I’ve taught privately and in public and private schools (including 6 years in the classroom) on and off since the late nineties, and have written three instructional play-along books for Hal Leonard Music (including Gypsy Jazz for Ukulele) . I integrate theory, technique, ear training, reading and musical history into the songs we play in lessons. I use the music you want to play to teach you the instrument and about music as a system. I’ve taught folks as young as five and older than 70. Many of my current and former students are now performing musicians (gigs my students played last summer: Summerfest, Chill On The Hill, Pridefest, Skyline Concert Series, Irishfest, Arte Para Todos) but you don’t need to be on stage- making music feels great!
I teach private and group lessons at all levels (at Wondersound Music and from my home in Wauwatosa) as well as Beginning Guitar and Ukulele classes offered through several local Rec Departments.

“Guy has been teaching our young daughter for the past few months. We have been very pleased as he demonstrates a high level of patience, gentle approach, and history of teaching expertise. His rates are also very competitive. Overall, it has been a very enriching and fun experience for our girl.”
-Meg Olson, Wauwatosa
“Guy has a clear way of explaining musical concepts. Attempting to learn a new instrument can be intimidating at times, but Guy breaks the process down into digestible, bite size pieces. His knowledge and experience as a musician is helping me become a better musician and gain confidence as well. I appreciate how he uses music that is relevant to me as a platform to teach musical elements.”
-Elizabeth Schmid, Milwaukee
“Guy has a great personality for making his students feel comfortable. His greatest attribute is his patience and relaxed method of teaching. He takes the time to repeat and slow it down until the student gets it, including demonstrating on his guitar. He also demonstrates how common chord progressions are used in popular music….His assurance and confidence in me keeps me practicing hard. I would recommend him to anyone interested in learning how to play the guitar.”
-Vincent Basille, Wauwatosa
“Guy is an excellent teacher. He’s a skilled guitarist and can play a wide range of music. He’s very laid-back, creates a great learning environment and always offers tips and tricks on how to improve. He’s extremely patient and will work with you until you master the piece of music or technique you’re struggling with. Guy selects appropriate music that we can play with a bit of practice. Plus, he chooses songs we recognize, which helps motivate me to practice. As a beginner, I felt like I made a lot of progress in the first six weeks. I highly recommend Guy as an instructor.”

Guy has been teaching me for close to 9 months now and I’m very pleased with him. He is patient but also pushes me a bit to learn what he knows I can take in. I’m learning to play some of my favorite tunes while also working with music theory and some of the nuances of playing the bass guitar. These include tone, “hearing” myself toward smoother pitch, and focusing now on the fingering of both hands. He is easy going and a very down to earth person. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn the stringed instruments he teaches. Guy is a true professional in every way!
I am a music teacher myself and my son takes guitar lessons from Guy. We had experience with a few other guitar teachers before finding Guy. From our experience, he is BY FAR the best guitar instructor! He has the balance of being an excellent performer himself, but understands how to work with all students from beginners of all ages to advanced students. We appreciate his enthusiasm and he puts on great concerts with the students!
